You arrive from Pacaya, drop bags, and meet the ocean. Black sand, warm water, a slow first evening.

Surf, surfskate and water time
Beginner-friendly surf coaching or surfskate for the younger travellers; swimming and beach time for everyone else. Afternoons stay open.

Mangroves, Reserva Natural Hawaii and turtles
A boat morning through the mangrove channels and time around the reserve, with turtle conservation experiences when the season and the reserve allow.

The fourth night exists so the family can repeat a favourite, fish, or do nothing at all — less packing, more coast.

A private drive inland and up, from sea level to Lake Atitlán.

- Private vehicle from Pacaya, private local movements along the coast, private drive onward to Atitlán.
- Weather and seasonality
- Hot and humid year-round; rain tends to arrive in defined windows. Turtle activity follows nesting season.
- What to bring
- Reef-safe sun protection, hats, swimwear, rash guard, insect repellent and sandals. Black sand gets hot.
- Accessibility and alternatives
- Ocean entry is not for everyone. Pier, pool, boat and shaded alternatives exist for every water activity.
